Basic Bible Doctrine Part 3
"Examining Popular Doctrines"
by Robert Harkrider

A Word From the Author:

This workbook has been prepared to serve as a complement to Basic Bible Doctrine I. In Parts 1 & 2 the "First Principles of Christianity" are presented with a positive format in an effort to introduce the pure truths of undenominational Christianity without the clutter of doctrines and traditions of men. However, every Bible student will at some point face various errors. The devil will make sure to test the foundations on which our convictions are based (2 Cor. 11:13-15; Matt. 7:15). This workbook is designed to help the student give answers to some of the most prominent religious questions being asked today.

Truth has nothing to hide nor to fear. Lovers of error are the only ones who should be afraid to examine their beliefs or refuse to be questioned about their scriptural authority (1 John 4:1). Those with prejudiced hearts are the only ones who should get angry when discussing doctrinal differences (Matt. 13:13-15). And those who reject the truth and believe a lie are the only ones who will refuse to change when shown they are in error (2 Thess. 2:9-11). Every honest student will test what he believes and/or hears in the light of God's word (1 Thess. 5:21). If he learns that what he has believed is in error, he will make the necessary changes just like the apostle Paul did (Acts 26:9-19). On the other hand, if what he believes is truth, it will be confirmed by such a test. Therefore he is not afraid to examine doctrinal differences but rather is eager and "ready always to give answer to every man that asketh a - reason for his hope" (1 Pet. 3:15). May each one who studies with this attitude be blessed, and may the Lord use this work to His glory.

*Because of the nature of these topics and the amount of material contained - in each lesson, many teachers have found that two class sessions are required to properly cover the material. Each lesson develops the central theme of its title, but the outlines are organized so that each major sub-section is a self- contained thought. Therefore teachers may develop the central theme in either one or two sessions and maintain a complete thought either way.

There are 13 lessons in this workbook.
